One issue with Springsharp
One issue that I have with Springsharp involves machinery weights and volumes. They are related, as machinery space volume seems to be related to machinery SHP/ton of machinery. It even transcend technology, to some degree. A ship that highlights the problem is the British large destroyer Swift, planned in late 1905 and early 1906, and laid down in 1906. The machinery in the ship was capable of somewhere between 40 and 64 SHP per ton of machinery weight. Springsharp allows something like 34 SHP/ton, which is too heavy and produces machinery which takes up too much volume.
