These were not my "classic" dimensions for the Ger/DD/1905
Because of Springsharp, I ended up having to vary the dimensions for the Ger/DD/1905 from those which I had originally envisioned. The normal displacement was meant to be 870 tons, with dimensions of 270ft x 28ft x 9ft. The original SHP planned was 25,000. Springsharp was pretty close: 27,692. In Springsharp, I had to increase the draft and freeboard and decrease the beam, in order to get a decent seakeeping ability. The displacement ended up at 977 tons. I was forced to accept a shorter range, in order to have sufficient hull strength, while keeping the speed at 32 knots.
