The "38 knot battlecruiser" (actually, 35-knot)
I just do a new design for what I had optimistically hoped was a 38-knot battlecruiser in 1971. The designed power was 180,000 SHP with a normal displacement of 29,000 tons. The armament was listed as 4-13.5in guns, although I added a nominal secondary armament of 12-4in QF guns, when I entered the design in Springsharp. Amazingly enough, it works pretty well, if you settle for "only" 35 knots:
