I had greatly overestimated speed for power: Ger/CBL/1915 Mod.A
the "Mod.A" version of the Ger/CBL/1915 design attempted to reach very high speeds. The reality was that while the design was workable, the extreme speeds over 40 knots were beyond reach. The design specified a 20,000 ton ship with one twin 12in gun turret forward. There were also 12-6in QF guns grouped in the center. There was a lower quarterdeck for about 33% of the length. I have a photo of the ship:
