The 2001 version of the Ger/CB/1906 design
I was amazed at how well the Ger/CB/1906 design worked. Admittedly, the machinery is lightweight, being 1910 technology. That means that the ship has 24.2 ton/SHP machinery. The ship has 8-12in/45 and 12-4in QF guns. The nominal Standard displacement of the original concept was 25,000 tons, which is achieved in this version. The speed is an aggressive 33 knots. I accepted a 15 knot cruising speed, which may be the reason why the design is workable. The ship is a very long 800ft, just a bit longer than the Renown and Repulse, in "real life". My 2001 drawing somewhat resembles the original version of those ships. This is the Springsharp report:
