Overall survivability and seakeeping ability:
Survivability (Non-critical penetrating hits needed to sink ship):
22,006 lbs / 9,982 Kg = 56.5 x 9.2 " / 234 mm shells or 2.8 torpedoes
Stability (Unstable if below 1.00): 1.09
Metacentric height 3.1 ft / 0.9 m
Roll period: 15.5 seconds

- Recoil effect (Restricted arc if above 1.00): 0.91
Seaboat quality (Average = 1.00): 1.10
Hull form characteristics:
Hull has a flush deck
and transom stern
Block coefficient: 0.578
Length to Beam Ratio: 10.23 : 1
'Natural speed' for length: 29.14 kts
Power going to wave formation at top speed: 57 %
Trim (Max stability = 0, Max steadiness = 100): 50
Bow angle (Positive = bow angles forward): 3.00 degrees
Stern overhang: 0.00 ft / 0.00 m
Freeboard (% = measuring location as a percentage of overall length):
- Stem: 26.00 ft / 7.92 m

Ship space, strength and comments:
Space - Hull below water (magazines/engines, low = better): 126.5 %
- Above water (accommodation/working, high = better): 201.9 %
Waterplane Area: 32,257 Square feet or 2,997 Square metres
Displacement factor (Displacement / loading): 117 %

A 33-knot heavy cruiser with 8-9.2in guns
This is a rather different approach to a 9.2in-gunned, heavy cruiser. The version is designed to make 33 knots. The hull is flush-decked with a transom stern. The main armament is 9-9.2in BLR in triple turrets. The armour basis is 4in with a 2in deck. The cruising range is 7,500nm at 18 knots. The Standard displacement is 13,988 tons. This is the Springsharp report:
