Overall survivability and seakeeping ability:
Survivability (Non-critical penetrating hits needed to sink ship):
1,468 lbs / 666 Kg = 17.6 x 5.5 " / 140 mm shells or 0.5 torpedoes
Stability (Unstable if below 1.00): 1.14
Metacentric height 1.1 ft / 0.3 m
Roll period: 12.4 seconds
Steadiness - As gun platform (Average = 50 %): 100 %
- Recoil effect (Restricted arc if above 1.00): 1.20
Seaboat quality (Average = 1.00): 2.00
Hull form characteristics:
Hull has a flush deck,
a normal bow and a round stern
Block coefficient (normal/deep): 0.552 / 0.568
Length to Beam Ratio: 6.95 : 1
'Natural speed' for length: 14.83 kts
Power going to wave formation at top speed: 58 %
Trim (Max stability = 0, Max steadiness = 100): 50
Bow angle (Positive = bow angles forward): 6.00 degrees
Stern overhang: 6.00 ft / 1.83 m
Freeboard (% = length of deck as a percentage of waterline length):
Fore end, Aft end

Ship space, strength and comments:
Space - Hull below water (magazines/engines, low = better): 116.6 %
- Above water (accommodation/working, high = better): 107.9 %
Waterplane Area: 4,872 Square feet or 453 Square metres
Displacement factor (Displacement / loading): 112 %
Structure weight / hull surface area: 55 lbs/sq ft or 269 Kg/sq metre
Hull strength (Relative):
- Cross-sectional: 0.80
- Longitudinal: 7.71
- Overall: 1.00
Hull space for machinery, storage, compartmentation is cramped
Room for accommodation and workspaces is adequate
Ship has slow, easy roll, a good, steady gun platform
Excellent seaboat, comfortable, can fire her guns in the heaviest weather

An anachronistic CSS Alabama cruiser design
I was not particularly happy with this, but Conway's did not have a displacement or draft for the CSS Alabama, and I had not looked to see if I could find it online. This is my rather unsatisfactory Alabama Springsharp design:]
