The US/CL/1927 design
The new features in the US/CL/1927 design are a flush deck, a 16-ft high 4in belt, 12-6in QF guns, a range of 10,000nm at 15 knots, so that the design is well-suited for Pacific warfare, and finally, a 1in torpedo bulkhead. Previous designs in this series had too low a range and lacked an armoured torpedo bulkhead. This design is more survivable than its predecessors in the series. This is the Springsharp report:]
