The classic version of the Ger/CB/1905 design
This is based on the original sketch design from the Blue Book, dating from 1971. The Ger/CB/1905 was intended as a lower-end counter to the GB/CB/1905 design, but accepted a much smaller displacement and a lower speed (31 knots). The design still depends on lightweight machinery. The ship was intended to be 19,000 tons Standard, with 4-12in/45 and 12-4in QF guns. The armour basis was to be 4in. The dimensions were 700ft x 80ft x 24.4ft. This is the Springsharp report:
