The French answer to the large German ships: the F/BB/1919
I thought that the French would have built an answer to the large German ships that I have recently designed. The French were considering 17in guns, so this fast battleship has them. I would think that an all-oil design might be smaller or more capable. This design has 8-17in BLR, 16-5.5in QF, 8-90mm AA, and 16-47mm AA guns. the belt is 14in with a 4.7in deck. The speed is 28 knots, with all coal-fired boilers. The main armament is in two quadruple turrets, mounted forward. This is the Springsharp design:
