The Ger/BB/1907 is really battleship-cruiser design, in the style advocated by William Hovgaard, early in the 20th Century

William Hovgaard advocated the fast battleship, as the ultimate armoured cruiser type. The ships would be larger and faster than regular battleships, but would be as well-armored. They might sacrifice one turret, though, in exchange for the armour and speed combination. You need never build inferior ships, as they automatically happen over time, as your older ships are inferior to your latest designs. The ships would carry the biggest guns, at a high speed, and have good armour. Colonel Cuniberti's Ideal Battleship for the British Navy (1903) qualifies, with a 12in armour basis, 24 knots, and 12-12in guns.
