This is the "D K Brown" version of the GB/CB/1905 battlecruiser (Updated)

When I exchanged communications with D. K. Brown in 2001, he suggested that the GB/CB/1905 should have 8-12in guns and 6in side armour. He advocated the 8-12in guns so that the ship could fire alternating four gun salvos. That was the gold standard for director controlled, long-range gunfire. He said that you needed 6in side armour to keep out lighter shells and splinters. That would provide an adequate waterline protection. That would make the ship very viable. In any case, he said that Philip Watts would have approved, as he liked fast ships with big guns. This is my attempt at such a ship with coal-fired boilers. It does rely upon very lightweight machinery to work: 26.4 SHP/ton machinery weight. This is my photo of this version:
