The version of the Ger/BB/1905 with coal-fired boilers works extremely well

I guess that I had overspecified the Ger/BB/1905 design, back in 1971, as the version with coal-fired boilers actually is light, compared to the originally specified 22,000 tons, Standard. This is a recent photo of one of the ships:

One of these ships had 8-12in/45 BLR and 12-4in QF guns. The armour basis is 10in with a 3in deck. The speed is 23 knots. This is the Springsharp report:
