The Ger/CB/1912 battlecruiser design actually can work with heavier machinery, if we had accepted a higher Standard displacement. However, I wanted to match the Standard displacement and weights, as much as possible, so I lightened the machinery to 1937 standard. This is the original specification:
Ger/CB/1912 32,659 tons Standard
6-15in/45 (82.5 tons)
176,000 SHP 40 SHP/ton = 32 knots
8-6in QF guns (5.5 tons)
Hull weight coefficient (C)=0.34
Cp=0.56 Cm=0.97
Length=820ft Beam=105ft Draft=29.4ft max
Hull depth=58ft
Weights: Protection:
Armament= 1,292 tons Belt = 6in
Protection= 10,867 tons Decks= 5in + 4in
Hull= 13,500 tons 2in A/T protection
Machinery= 4,400 tons
Misc.= 2,600 tons
Oil fuel= 6,000 tons
Feedwater= 900 tons
full load= 39,559 tons

Overall survivability and seakeeping ability:
Survivability (Non-critical penetrating hits needed to sink ship):
54,772 lbs / 24,844 Kg = 32.5 x 15.0 " / 381 mm shells or 8.1 torpedoes
Stability (Unstable if below 1.00): 1.17
Metacentric height 7.2 ft / 2.2 m
Roll period: 16.4 seconds
Steadiness - As gun platform (Average = 50 %): 65 %
- Recoil effect (Restricted arc if above 1.00): 0.50
Seaboat quality (Average = 1.00): 1.31
Hull form characteristics:
Hull has rise forward of midbreak
Block coefficient: 0.476
Length to Beam Ratio: 7.81 : 1
'Natural speed' for length: 28.64 kts
Power going to wave formation at top speed: 50 %
