A fast heavy cruiser: the US/CA/1921 design

The next obvious step was to create a fast US heavy cruiser design. I thought that 35 knots would be adequate, as that would be comparable to what the Japanese were building or thinking of building. My design just has 9-8in/55 BLR, 8-5in/25 AA, 24-0.50in MG, and 8-21in TT. The armour basis is 4in and the deck is just 2in. I did include a torpedo bulkhead of 1in. This is the Springsharp report:
