I have this inboard profile of the Super Lion, as I drew it in the early 1970's in the Jane's Fighting Ship style, with different armour thicknesses in different textures. The specification was grossly over-optimistic:
Super Lion
Displacement = 27,000 tons Standard 10-15in/45 (97 ton)
28,500 tons normal load 16-5in/50 (5 ton)
31,500 tons deep load
Speed = 32 knots normal Cost = £2.43 million
35.6 knots max
There are no dimensions in the specification, although the inboard profile is to scale at 1 inch = 100 feet. A much larger ship with the lightest machinery is necessary to implement the specification, such as it is.
