Overall survivability and seakeeping ability:
Survivability (Non-critical penetrating hits needed to sink ship):
5,948 lbs / 2,698 Kg = 55.1 x 6.0 " / 152 mm shells or 0.9 torpedoes
Stability (Unstable if below 1.00): 1.08
Metacentric height 2.1 ft / 0.6 m
Roll period: 14.6 seconds
Steadiness - As gun platform (Average = 50 %): 51 %
- Recoil effect (Restricted arc if above 1.00): 0.51
Seaboat quality (Average = 1.00): 1.03
Hull form characteristics:
Hull has rise forward of midbreak,
a normal bow and a round stern
Block coefficient (normal/deep): 0.630 / 0.633
Length to Beam Ratio: 11.10 : 1
'Natural speed' for length: 23.56 kts
Power going to wave formation at top speed: 67 %
Trim (Max stability = 0, Max steadiness = 100): 50

Ship space, strength and comments:
Space - Hull below water (magazines/engines, low = better): 236.9 %
- Above water (accommodation/working, high = better): 185.2 %
Waterplane Area: 20,870 Square feet or 1,939 Square metres
Displacement factor (Displacement / loading): 97 %
Structure weight / hull surface area: 89 lbs/sq ft or 437 Kg/sq metre

An "edgy" 37 knot light cruiser: the Ger/CL/1915 design study
What I am calling here the Ger/CL/1915 design study is similar to the design that I had in the "Red Book", dating from the early 1970's. The ship is trying to be as fast as possible, with 8-6in guns. This is the sort of ship it is:
