The last in the series: F/CA/1941
The F/CA/1941 design is a jump in capability, and a rather radical recasting of the type. The hull is now flush-decked with a transom stern. The speed is increased to 35 knots and the range is increased to 7,500nm at 15 knots. The secondary armament is increased to 12-5.1in DP guns, and the light AA armament is increased to 48-47mm AA guns in twin mounts. Making the hull flush-decked made the recoil more of an issue, and I had to adjust dimensions and other characteristics to bring the number under 1.0. This is the Springsharp report:
