The Ger/BB/1909 design concept

The 1909 design for a 24 knot ship with 9-12in/50 guns and 8-6in QF guns with dimensions of 640ft x 105ft x 26.9 ft was probably the genesis for the Ger/BB/1909 design, not a British design. The version that I actually took to a more detailed design had a 30ft draft and a greater displacement. I used that for a Springsharp design:
Ger/BB/1909 original concept, Germany Battleship laid down 1909

Displacement:
 25,776 t light; 26,873 t standard; 29,664 t normal; 31,897 t full load

Breech loading guns in turret on barbette mounts, 1909 Model
3 x Single mounts on centreline ends, majority forward
      8 - 6.00" / 152 mm 50.0 cal guns - 114.33lbs / 51.86kg shells, 180 per gun
Quick firing guns in deck and hoist mounts, 1909 Model
8 x Single mounts on sides amidships
Weight of broadside 9,150 lbs / 4,150 kg

Armour:
   - Belts: Width (max) Length (avg) Height (avg)

Main Belt covers 88 % of normal length

   - Torpedo Bulkhead:
  2.00" / 51 mm 365.00 ft / 111.25 m 30.00 ft / 9.14 m

   - Gun armour: Face (max) Other gunhouse (avg) Barbette/hoist (max)

Overall survivability and seakeeping ability:
Survivability (Non-critical penetrating hits needed to sink ship):
   57,629 lbs / 26,140 Kg = 66.7 x 12.0 " / 305 mm shells or 9.9 torpedoes
Stability (Unstable if below 1.00): 1.24
 Metacentric height 8.0 ft / 2.4 m
 Roll period: 15.6 seconds
 Steadiness - As gun platform (Average = 50 %): 89 %
   - Recoil effect (Restricted arc if above 1.00): 0.46
 Seaboat quality (Average = 1.00): 1.79

Hull form characteristics:
Hull has rise forward of midbreak,
a normal bow and a cruiser stern
 Block coefficient (normal/deep): 0.515 / 0.524
 Length to Beam Ratio: 6.10 : 1
'Natural speed' for length: 25.30 kts
Power going to wave formation at top speed: 49 %
 Trim (Max stability = 0, Max steadiness = 100): 50
