A 17in-gunned version of the Ger/CB/1937 family
I had not originally specified the gun caliber for the next larger sized Ger/CB/1937 design. I decided that for the size, the gun caliber should be no larger than 17in. The armour basis really exceeds battlecruiser protection at 15in. The protection is really robust, if you examine the Springsharp report. From my perspective, this is a very good ship.
