A question about the GB/CB/1914 Fast
I may be the only one "out there" to ask this question, but it occurred to me immediately after yesterday's design was posted. The question is if we restricted the machinery to "normal weight" for the date and restricted power to the specified 180,000 SHP, how fast would the GB/CB/1914 Fast be able to go? The apparent answer is "34 knots". I was apparently overly ambitious with my "38 knots" speed estimate for 29,000 tons and 180,000 SHP. This is the revised Springsharp design:
