My attempt at a "cruiser killer" along the lines of what Frank Fox had suggested
Frank Fox had told me that he preferred something more along the lines of a 9.2in-gunned heavy cruiser for a "cruiser killer", rather than something similar to a battleship or battlecruiser. On 17 February 2002, I tried such a design. The ship has 8-9.2 BLR and 8-4.7in QF guns. The speed is 32 knots. The armour basis is 6in with a 2in deck. The ship can cruise for 6,500 nm at 18 knots. This is the Springsharp report:
