My first attempt at HMS Swift (1905)
I have this great, but small, photo of the Swift, presumably late in her career. I also have this drawing in March's book with a scale in feet. Using those two sources, I drew my first cut at a drawing. The length on the waterline is just 345ft. The ship carried 4-4in QF guns and 2-18in TT. When pressed, the ship could make 35 knots. She might have done better, except that she was grossly overweight. The rumours about 40 knots were ridiculous, given what we now know.
