Overall survivability and seakeeping ability:
Survivability (Non-critical penetrating hits needed to sink ship):
12,772 lbs / 5,793 Kg = 118.3 x 6.0 " / 152 mm shells or 1.4 torpedoes
Stability (Unstable if below 1.00): 1.21
Metacentric height 3.5 ft / 1.1 m
Roll period: 14.0 seconds
Steadiness - As gun platform (Average = 50 %): 53 %
- Recoil effect (Restricted arc if above 1.00): 0.36
Seaboat quality (Average = 1.00): 1.05
Hull form characteristics:
Hull has rise forward of midbreak
Block coefficient: 0.497
Length to Beam Ratio: 10.40 : 1
'Natural speed' for length: 25.40 kts
Power going to wave formation at top speed: 60 %
Trim (Max stability = 0, Max steadiness = 100): 50
Bow angle (Positive = bow angles forward): 3.00 degrees
Stern overhang: -2.00 ft / -0.61 m
Freeboard (% = measuring location as a percentage of overall length):
- Stem: 27.00 ft / 8.23 m
- Forecastle (20 %): 25.00 ft / 7.62 m
- Mid (67 %): 25.00 ft / 7.62 m (17.00 ft / 5.18 m aft of break)
- Quarterdeck (15 %): 17.00 ft / 5.18 m
- Stern: 17.00 ft / 5.18 m

Ship tends to be wet forward
Ship space, strength and comments:
Space - Hull below water (magazines/engines, low = better): 116.5 %
- Above water (accommodation/working, high = better): 128.7 %
Waterplane Area: 26,575 Square feet or 2,469 Square metres
Displacement factor (Displacement / loading): 107 %
Structure weight / hull surface area: 110 lbs/sq ft or 538 Kg/sq metre

The GB/CL/1935 light cruiser design
The GB/CL/1935 design is almost a Mogami-type ship, except that this design has a larger displacement and a deeper draft. The draft is abnormal, as this is a convenient way, in Springsharp, to increase strength. I am sorry to say that I will resort to such measures. The main difference with this design is the 36-knot speed and the 8,500nm range at 15 knots. The armour basis is still 4in with a 2in deck. The armament stayed the same with 12-6in QF, 8-4in AA, 28-2pdr AA, and 16-21in TT. This is the Springsharp report:
