The well-protected GB/CB/1918 with 16in guns
Keeping with slightly reduced dimensions with a good armament and protection, this is a GB/CB/1918 design. The Standard Displacement is somewhat more than the Hood, but the other characteristics are so much better than the Hood as to make that size investment well worth the cost. The armament is a very 1918-ish 8-16in BLR, 16-5.5in QF, 6-4.7in AA, and 32-2pdr AA guns. I retained the 4-21in submerged TT, for better or worse. The armour basis is 13in with a 4in deck and 3in torpedo bulkhead. This is the Springsharp report:
