Overall survivability and seakeeping ability:
Survivability (Non-critical penetrating hits needed to sink ship):
51,230 lbs / 23,237 Kg = 25.0 x 16.0 " / 406 mm shells or 8.6 torpedoes
Stability (Unstable if below 1.00): 1.06
Metacentric height 5.9 ft / 1.8 m
Roll period: 18.0 seconds
Steadiness - As gun platform (Average = 50 %): 65 %
- Recoil effect (Restricted arc if above 1.00): 0.83
Seaboat quality (Average = 1.00): 1.30
Hull form characteristics:
Hull has rise forward of midbreak
Block coefficient: 0.588
Length to Beam Ratio: 6.78 : 1
'Natural speed' for length: 26.55 kts
Power going to wave formation at top speed: 49 %
Trim (Max stability = 0, Max steadiness = 100): 50
Bow angle (Positive = bow angles forward): 4.00 degrees
Stern overhang: -2.00 ft / -0.61 m
Freeboard (% = measuring location as a percentage of overall length):
- Stem: 28.00 ft / 8.53 m

Ship tends to be wet forward
Ship space, strength and comments:
Space - Hull below water (magazines/engines, low = better): 90.2 %
- Above water (accommodation/working, high = better): 168.5 %
Waterplane Area: 53,038 Square feet or 4,927 Square metres
Displacement factor (Displacement / loading): 105 %

The 1916 Japanese battleship design: J/BB/1916
My 1916 Japanese battleship design has the features that I wanted, plus it fits within the 35,000 ton standard displacement (not that it was an issue). I thought that by 1916, the main armament should consist of 16in guns, and the ship should be able to make 26 knots. For 1916, the ship is the ideal fast battleship. Those characteristics could be achieved without resorting to very light machinery. Being wet forward seems to be main criticism, although the scale of armour is rather inadequate. This is the SpringSharp report:
