Another attempt at the Ger/CB/1906 "classic" version
I thought that I would try again (prompted by the order of designs in the Blue Book) to see if I could implement that "classic" version of the Ger/CB/1905. This was a very "edgy" design that did extreme shortening of the citadel to reduce the weight of protection. The 800ft length was intended to aid the achievement of the 33 knot speed. The armour basis is 4in and the deck is 3in. Turrets and barbettes are 6in. The armament is 8-12in/45 and 12-4in QF guns. There is a single tripod mast forward and only lightly armoured bridge structure. I experimented to use the heaviest machinery possible, which is still not very heavy. This is the Springsharp report:'
