The 45,000 ton battlecruiser also works well

One of the keys to success for the GB/CB/1915 battlecruiser is that the design is pretty conservative. I used an armour basis of 12in. The main armament is just 8-15in guns. The speed is just 30 knots. The resulting ship is better protected than the Hood, as it uses the "all or nothing" principle. The dimensions are Hood-like, but the hull is flush-decked. This is the Springsharp report:

Overall survivability and seakeeping ability:
Survivability (Non-critical penetrating hits needed to sink ship):
   79,521 lbs / 36,070 Kg = 47.1 x 15.0 " / 381 mm shells or 14.1 torpedoes
Stability (Unstable if below 1.00): 1.09
 Metacentric height 6.3 ft / 1.9 m
 Roll period: 17.6 seconds
 Steadiness - As gun platform (Average = 50 %): 65 %
   - Recoil effect (Restricted arc if above 1.00): 0.66
 Seaboat quality (Average = 1.00): 1.29

Hull form characteristics:
 Hull has a flush deck
 Block coefficient: 0.597
 Length to Beam Ratio: 8.14 : 1
'Natural speed' for length: 29.24 kts
Power going to wave formation at top speed: 49 %
 Trim (Max stability = 0, Max steadiness = 100): 50
Bow angle (Positive = bow angles forward): 4.00 degrees
 Stern overhang: -2.00 ft / -0.61 m
Freeboard (% = measuring location as a percentage of overall length):
    - Stem: 32.00 ft / 9.75 m
    - Forecastle (20 %): 25.00 ft / 7.62 m
    - Mid (50 %): 25.00 ft / 7.62 m
