The original concept for the Ger/CB/1905 battlecruisers

I am pleasantly surprised just how viable the original concept is for the Ger/CB/1905 battlecruisers. They were nominally 33 knot ships with 8-12in guns and a 4in armour basis. This is the photo of one of the ships, as originally conceived:

This is the Springsharp report:
Ger/CB/1906 Original Concept, Germany Battlecruiser laid down 1905 (Engine 1921)

Overall survivability and seakeeping ability:
Survivability (Non-critical penetrating hits needed to sink ship):
   34,142 lbs / 15,486 Kg = 39.5 x 12.0 " / 305 mm shells or 3.8 torpedoes
Stability (Unstable if below 1.00): 1.15
 Metacentric height 5.1 ft / 1.5 m
 Roll period: 15.8 seconds
 Steadiness - As gun platform (Average = 50 %): 60 %
   - Recoil effect (Restricted arc if above 1.00): 0.72
 Seaboat quality (Average = 1.00): 1.21

Hull form characteristics:
Hull has rise forward of midbreak
 Block coefficient: 0.540
 Length to Beam Ratio: 9.41 : 1
'Natural speed' for length: 28.28 kts
Power going to wave formation at top speed: 54 %
 Trim (Max stability = 0, Max steadiness = 100): 50
Bow angle (Positive = bow angles forward): -2.00 degrees
 Stern overhang: -2.00 ft / -0.61 m
Freeboard (% = measuring location as a percentage of overall length):
    - Stem: 36.00 ft / 10.97 m
    - Forecastle (20 %): 29.00 ft / 8.84 m
    - Mid (69 %): 29.00 ft / 8.84 m (21.00 ft / 6.40 m aft of break)
    - Quarterdeck (15 %): 21.00 ft / 6.40 m
    - Stern: 21.00 ft / 6.40 m
    - Average freeboard: 27.08 ft / 8.25 m

Ship space, strength and comments:
 Space - Hull below water (magazines/engines, low = better): 130.6 %
  - Above water (accommodation/working, high = better): 228.2 %
Waterplane Area: 47,034 Square feet or 4,370 Square metres
 Displacement factor (Displacement / loading): 106 %
