This is based on a very incomplete specification in my "Red Book". The specification simply reads:

Immediately preceding this specification is a page with two designs listed, the German BB with 12-16in guns and 21-22knots speed, and a battlecruiser with 8-15in guns and 28-30 knot speed. My first reaction was to turn this into a light battlecruiser, but I thought better of it, and went with a ship with 8-15in guns and at least 31knot speed. What I produced is only possible with extremely light machinery. This is the resulting Springsharp report:
