A ship in the next series of design studies: Ger/BB/1939 12in

The next series of design studies also had a similar "template". They all would have separate secondary and AA guns, rather than DP guns. There was the usual tower mast, a single funnel, and triple turrets for the main armament. This is a design study from the low end of the range. This ship was a 12-inch gunned battleship of 30,298 tons with a 12in armor basis. The speed was a modest 27 knots. This was fast enough to fit the fast battleship formula, but low enough to have a modest impact on the design at this date. The secondary armament is 12-6in QF guns and the AA armament is 12-4in AA, 42-37mm AA, and 28-20mm AA guns. This is the Springsharp report:
