I just entered the specs for the Ger/BB/1915 CDV design, and made data entry errors that made it look like "it worked"
The Ger/BB/1915 CDV is a tubby coast defense battleship ("V" means vessel). The ship has 4-18in and 16-4in guns, with 4-23.6in TT above water. The ship has only a 10in armor basis, but a 10in deck, as well. Back 30-some years ago, we were enamoured with coast defense battleships. I entered the data, but neglected to give the belt length or height, as well as the anti-torpedo bulkhead. With little protection, except for a 10in deck (like a heavily protected cruiser), the design worked pretty well. To get sufficient hull strength, after entering the data, the ship ballooned to 36,448 tons, normal displacement. The drawing has a profile like a 1920's pocket battleships, with a single funnel, tower mast, and single, German-looking turrets, forward and aft. To obtain passable seakeeping ability, I had to reduce the beam to 112 feet, instead of the original 118 ft. You expect a coast defense battleship to accept some wetness forward, but I am pleased with how the design developed.
